For the fourth year of the Africa Business Heroes (ABH) prize program, applications are now open in English and French.

ABH annually recognizes 10 outstanding entrepreneurs from around Africa with a share of a US$1.5 million grant.

The fourth annual edition of the “Africa’s Business Heroes” (ABH) prize competition, one of the Jack Ma Foundation’s flagship philanthropic programs highlighting and celebrating Africa’s entrepreneurial excellence, is now accepting submissions.

Entrepreneurs from all 54 African countries, representing every industry, age group, and gender, can now apply in either French or English for a chance to be among the Top 10 finalists.

Ten finalists will take the stage at the grand finale later this year to pitch their enterprises to a panel of business legends for a chance to win a portion of the US$1.5 million grant.

Access to a community of international leaders and innovators, industry experts, investors, and accelerators, as well as multidisciplinary boot camps and training sessions to help the finalists take their enterprises to the next level, will be part of the path to the Finale.

The show intends to be a tutorial in entrepreneurship, as viewers will be able to experience firsthand how top African entrepreneurs honed their final pitches and dealt with tough questioning from great business experts.

“I was ecstatic to be chosen the champion of the ABH competition in 2021. I hope that my victory encourages many individuals in Africa to believe that they, too, can make a difference and have an influence. Throughout the competition, I learned a lot, and I’ll use what I’ve learned to help PraxiLabs expand even more. PraxiLabs founder Khadija Mohamed Elbedweihy says, “We will remain focused and motivated to alter how Africa learns and teaches science, one virtual lab at a time.”

ABH will engage with a variety of organizations throughout the year to promote the call for applications, encourage African entrepreneurs, and highlight their amazing work.

Applications will be accepted online until June 6, 2022, with semi-finalists being revealed in October and the top 10 finalists being announced in November.
