The virtual event was hosted by Carole Ramella-Managing Director GFA Consulting who spoke about what the program seeks to achieve within the SMEs in Ghana.

Madam Eyerusalem Fasika – Country Manager for ADB also touched on the objectives of the program.

Patrick Lumumba-Head of Capacity Development at AGF said that AGF was committed to equipping start-ups with skills and financial support through the program.

Guess speaker from the National Entrepreneurship Initiative Programme Mr. Franklin Karikari spoke about the role of government in supporting SMEs including partnerships with private sector to enable young business owners survive.

Kwame Asa Adadey-Divisional Bank Marketing Zenith Bank Ghana highlighted their works with SMEs and challenges they face with SME funding. Key highlights were poor managerial skills and governance structure. On the panel were Ebenezer Arthur-CEO, Wangara Ventures, Prince Akpesey-Director Deal team Zebu Investment Partners, Baafou Otu-Boateng-Investment Director.

A second panel discussion was held on Investment readiness and why it is important. A key takeaway was the need to have a one stop shop for enterprise support and information for stakeholders of early-stage entrepreneurship. On the panel were Amma Gyampo-Co founder of Scale Up Africa, Samuel Opoku-CEO Startup Lounge Africa and Em Ekong founder and director, Urban Inclusion Community.
